This Apprenticeship will help you develop the necessary skills within your workplace to effectively carry out printing and production processes in the Print and Graphic Communications industry. You will study a broad range of topics, including health and safety, communications and working relationships, preparing and operating equipment and machinery and developing design responses for a variety of production stages for the print market. Yeovil College offers Apprenticeships in specific strands. Which strand you take will be based upon your employer and job role. At Level 2, you can study Machine Printing - Flexography, Machine Printing - Gravure, Machine Printing - Lithography, Machine Printing - Web Offset, Mechanised Print Finishing and Binding and Newspaper and Periodicals.
You should have a work placement relevant to your chosen career route, an interest and enthusiasm for your work and the determination to succeed and progress. A reasonable standard of English and Maths is required, but support is available.
After Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship, you can progress to a Level 3 course in an appropriate area. You can continue to work in the sector.
