This Apprenticeship is designed for people pursuing a career in the Electronic and Electrical Industry. The Apprenticeship consists of a Level 3 NVQ, Technical Certificate and, if required, Functional Skills. Learners will take four mandatory units, a choice of three PEO engineering practices or five PEO technical support units, and one of fourteen job-specific pathways.
You must have a Level 2 NVQ in Engineering and a Technical Certificate or equivalent, achieved through fulltime study or an Intermediate Apprenticeship. You also need a work placement for the duration of the course with a suitable employer.
You will need Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), but this is normally provided by your employer at this level.
Following this course, you can remain in employment and/or progress onto HNC/D study with additional maths and mechanical bridging units. Suitable roles include Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Electronics Maintenance Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Fluid Power Maintenance Technician, Lift Services Maintenance Technician and Plant and Systems Maintenance Technician.
