Leisure Operational Services - Level 2


This Apprenticeship is designed for those already working in the sports and leisure industry, such as leisure centre, golf centre or coaching centre, or who are looking to start a career in the sector. It is practically based and will help you develop the knowledge and skills that employers look for.



What's involved?

Students will receive practical training designed to develop knowledge and competence at carrying out relevant real-life tasks that employers value. This practical course covers a wide range of subjects to give a broad basic knowledge.


The course is divided into three sections:


  • Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning


  • NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being Operational Services


  • Certificate in Leisure Operations


  • Course content will be tailored to the needs of the individual and will include:


  • Continued Professional Development


  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults


  • Resolve customer service problems


  • Provide a facilities reception service


  • Students have the opportunity to "earn while you learn"


  • Excellent sports facilities and resources


  • Superb computer facilities


  • Modern learning resources centre


  • Training Officer support and guidance


  • Experience of delivery


  • Entry Requirements

    GCSEs in the A*– E range

    Initial assessment



    Mode of Study

    Up to 12 months, although students can fast track if they have met the performance criteria earlier.


  • Practical assessment


  • Workbooklet


  • Observation


  • Portfolio of evidence


  • Applicants will be visited regularly by a qualified Assessor to check progression and ensure that they are building evidence towards their final qualification.


    How many hours/days a week will I be in College?

    Applicants could visit the College one day per week to work towards gaining detailed underpinning knowledge of the chosen subject.



    Progression

    Successful completion of the course could lead to employment opportunities within the industry or progress to Level 3 (Advanced Apprenticeship). Students may then progress to study a Foundation Degree at Level 4 and 5 within Sports Coaching, Health, Fitness & Exercise, Sports Development, Sports Science and Leisure Management Level 4 and 5.
