EAL Level 1 Craft Certificate


Introduction to this course

This one year introductory programme is designed to help you begin developing the practical skills needed to work in the Engineering industry. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in welding, fabrication and machining and will be based in our state-of-the-art Engineering workshops, where you can develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of these areas.


This programme is timetabled over three days a week to allow you to undertake part-time work experience to support your learning.

Entry Requirements

You will need four GCSEs grade D-E including English and maths.

One Year



Career Prospects

When you successfully complete this qualification, you can apply for our full-time Level 2 Engineering study or an Apprenticeship with us.



How will I be assessed?

All practical work you do contributed to a portfolio of evidence you produce during the year. You will also complete online assessments.

Expenses for this course

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Course Materials - £75. You will also be asked to contribute towards trips.
