The BTEC Level 3 Diploma is ideal for people who either want to study Engineering at university or become an Apprentice. This study programme is split over two years into two separate qualifications allowing an exit point at the end of year one that can be certificated.
Typically the study programme will cover areas such as: mechanical science, electrical and electronic principals, maths, business studies, engineering drawing, engineering design, manufacturing processes. You will complete an Engineering project so you can apply everything that you have learned to a specific task.

You need 5 A* - C GCSEs including maths, English & Science or the BTEC Level 2 Engineering Diploma.
You will be ideally positioned to progress to a degree-level programme at the Yeovil College University Centre or you can apply for an Apprenticeship at the end of year 1 or 2.
The Extended Certificate is assessed primarily through a series of assignments that are complete during the year of the course. There are three external exams with a pass/fail outcome although these do not contribute to the overall grade.

Protective clothing and materials – Approximately £75. You will also need to contribute towards trips and activities.
