A Level Film Studies

Introduction to this course

In this subject we study film from the smallest details of editing and camera work, to an overview of the industry as a whole. You will develop skills in close analysis of film sequences, with the opportunity to study films of your own choice.

Through a detailed case study of a Hollywood blockbuster you will learn how the film industry operates, from the green-lighting of production to the film’s final box-office figures. You will also be introduced to cinema from different countries and periods.
