A Level Maths

Introduction to this course

This study programme is designed to develop your understanding of a wide range of mathematical ideas and your ability to use them to analyse and solve problems in a variety of applications. It encompasses Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus (Pure Mathematics), an Introduction to Statistics (probability and its application to the analysis of data) and Mechanics (the application of maths to studying force and motion).

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs at grade A* to C, including grade A* to B in GCSE Maths and grade C or above in English and Science.

Duration of this course

A Level is a two year course. Enrolment is only in September.

Career Prospects

The ability to think mathematically to use mathematical problem solving skills is a great advantage in may university study programmes and careers. Mathematics is a ‘must have’ for Physical Sciences, Engineering and any mathematics-based degrees. Career options for those with A Level Maths include Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, Teaching and many more.
