This one year qualification is designed for Exercise and Fitness Instructors who are capable of planning, delivering and evaluating a series of sessions independently. You will use the theoretical aspects to plan and deliver a range of fitness-based programmes. This is a Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) recognised qualification. Alongside this course, you will also enhance your coaching and leadership ability.

You need four GCSEs at grade A* to D including English and maths.
Following successful completion, you can progress onto an apprenticeship, employment in the fitness and exercise sector or progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training.
You will be assessed in a realistic working environment in Fitness Instruction. Students produce a portfolio of evidence, including underpinning knowledge questions, assessment feedback and written statements.

Unit 4: Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health

Unit 6: Plan and Prepare Gym-based Exercise
Unit 7: Instruct and Supervise Gym-based Exercise

There is an expectation that all learners will wear their kit when representing the college in fixtures (home and away) and when taking part in physical activity sessions (as a participant, official or coach). Second year learners do not need to purchase new kit.
