Uniformed Public Services, Outdoor Adventurous Activities and Sport - Level 1


Introduction to this course


This introductory study programme provides you with the perfect starting point for a career or further training in this exciting sector.  You will have the opportunity to study the various uniformed services, such as the Emergency Services, Armed Forces and HM Revenue and Customs in detail. You will also be able to take part in various sporting activities, including football, basketball and hockey, as well as training in our fitness suite.


There are a number of trips and activities available such as visits to lifeboat stations, prisons, fire stations and police stations.  You will also have the opportunity to join our competitive sports teams, such as football, basketball, rugby, netball, volleyball and badminton.

Entry Requirements

You need four GCSEs at grade F or above including English and maths.



Career prospects

Upon successful completion you can apply for higher level study programmes at Yeovil College, pursue employment opportunities or progress to an Apprenticeship in the Uniformed Services sector. Yeovil College offers study programmes in the Uniformed Public Services up to university level, meaning that you can develop your skills and knowledge locally.
