Both the paper form and the online form can be used to apply for either Yeovil or North Dorset courses, so please make sure you say where you want to study.
We only need one application from each student, so if you apply online you do not need to complete a paper form and vice versa. After applying, if you change your mind and want to apply for another course, you don't need to fill in an additional application. Simply call our Student & Customer Services Team on 01935 423921 or email email@example.com
Applications are accepted direct to the College from September each year and are processed on a first come first served basis.
Once we have received your application form you will receive a letter detailing an interview date, interviews start in November and are held on a monthly basis.Interviews
Your interview will take place with a member of staff relevant to the course applied for and will last approximately 20 minutes. Please remember to bring details of any predicted grades or relevant qualifications / certificates with you.
During the interview you will discuss your interests, your plans for the future, the course you have applied for and the entry requirements for that course. Provided the course you have applied for is suitable for you, you will receive a conditional offer of a place. This offer will be subject to you achieving or holding the required entry qualifications.
You can also find out more about travel, finance and support at the interviews. New Student's Day
We will contact you again in mid-June when we will send you a letter inviting you to our New Students’ Day. This will be held at the end of June and you will have a chance to meet the tutors, participate in team building exercises and take part in fun activities. Enrolment
We will contact you by letter during the summer to invite you to our enrolment event. This will take place in August following the release of GCSE results. At this event you will have a second interview to check your GCSE results and confirm your course choice. If your grades match or exceed your offer we will officially welcome you onto the course. If your results are lower than required by your offer we will discuss your options and look to offer you a suitable course.
Following your interview, you will be guided through the rest of the enrolment process. You will also have another opportunity to find out more about travel, finance and support. At the end of the process, you will be given a letter detailing the arrangements for the start of term, including your tutor and the room you will need to report to for your first day.
