Diploma in AAT Level 3

Introduction to this course

Are you a college leaver hoping to start a career in Accountancy or someone who wants to re-train in Accountancy? Do you already have practical accounting experience but no formal qualifications? Then this course may be suitable for you. The AAT Diploma (Level 3) is a professional course for students who wish to obtain an accounting qualification. It includes six modules covering areas including accounts preparation, indirect tax, professional ethics and spreadsheets. It is sponsored by three main accountancy bodies and is a nationally recognised qualification.

Entry Requirements

You can progress to this course if you have completed the AAT Certificate (Level 2). You can also apply if you have suitable Accounting experience or a qualification in Accounting. If you want to go straight to the Level 3 course, you will need to discuss this at interview.

Duration of this Course

This is a one year course (30 weeks).
2017/18 classes are every Tuesday between 10am and 5:00pm starting from 19/09/2017.

Career Prospects

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 course, the natural progression is to the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting.

This course is for college leavers who want to pursue a career in accountancy, people who want to retrain in accountancy or those who have practical accounting experience but no formal accountancy qualifications. You must obtain practical accounting experience and be able to demonstrate Level 2 competence.

How will I be assessed?

You will sit examinations on a computer. You will need to achieve 70% in each module to pass.

You will learn through lectures, during which you will be actively encouraged to participate and to contribute using your own accounting knowledge and work experience.
