Introduction to this course

This 10 week evening class will help you develop your camera, studio and darkroom skills. The course covers both traditional and digital photography techniques.

No previous experience necessary, just an enthusiasm and interest in the subject.

Course content/units

The course covers both traditional and digital photography techniques such as:


  • Getting to know your camera
  • Good composition and focus
  • Digital sensors and film sensitivity
  • Exposure: Shutter speed techniques for exposure and effect
  • Studio lighting
  • Special subjects: portraiture, landscape and close-up

    This is a maximum course cost. Please note that fees vary depending upon your personal circumstances and government funding. Additional membership and exam fees may also apply.
