Sports Academy


Athletics Academy

- 2012/13 male cross country runners won the silver medal at the AOC National Colleges Finals

- 2012/13 female cross country runners won the bronze medal at the AOC National Colleges Finals

- 2014/15 Jordan Davies won Silver Medal at the English Schools Championships in the Shot Put

- 2014 /15 Brett Harrison won the Silver Medal at the South West Schools Championships in the 200m

- Training takes place at the Bill Whistlecroft Athletics Arena situated next to Yeovil College

- Athletes are coached by Level 3 specialists

- Many athletes also compete for Yeovil Olympiads and have represented Somerset County Schools


Basketball Academy

- 2015/16 the men’s team came 2nd in the AOC South West Regional Colleges League (1st in Somerset)

- Many players also compete for Yeovil Trojans

- Coached by the Yeovil Trojans coach


Netball Academy

- 2013/14 came 1st in the AOC South West Regional Colleges League

- 2014/15 Kelly Coombes captained the British Colleges team

- Many players also compete for Yeovil Netball

- Coached by a Level 3 specialist


Football Academy (Men’s)

- 2014/15 season the men’s team came 1st in AOC South West Regional Colleges League

- 2014/15 2nd in the AOC National Colleges Championships

- 2014/15 Jordan Storey represented England Schools and progressed to Exeter City FC

- 2014/15 Team coached by Yeovil Town FC 1st Team Manager Darren Way and Coach Terry Skiverton on a weekly basis

- 2015/16 2nd in the AOC South-West Regional Colleges League (1st in Somerset)

- Many players also play for Yeovil Town FC U18s, Wincanton Town FC U18s, Reserves and Men’s 1st team

- Players with high levels of potential to become a professional are also selected to train with Yeovil Town FC Men’s 1st team

- Home games played at Yeovil Town FC 3G Pitch


Football Academy (Ladies)

- 2015/16 the Ladies team came 2nd in the AOC South West Regional Colleges league (1st in Somerset)

- 2015/16 the Ladies team came 3rd in the AOC South West Regional Championships

- 2015/16 the Ladies team had a total of 11 Yeovil Town Ladies FC players


Badminton Academy

- 2013/14 Amy Reddaway won gold at the AOC National Colleges Finals in the Ladies Singles

- 2015/16 Tom Crisp won silver at the AOC South West Regional Finals in the Men’s Singles

- Players compete in the Somerset Schools League, AOC South West Regional Championships and AOC National Championships

- Coached by a Level 3 specialist


Rugby Academy

- 2015 Jake Woolmore turned professional at Exeter Chiefs

- 2014 Marlie Packer won the World Cup with England Ladies

- Home games played at Martock RFC Pitch

- Coached by Level 3 specialists



Sport Specialists Academy

- Talented sports performers from any sport will receive strength and conditioning support and entry into Somerset/Regional/National College’s competitions. Financial support is available to support some of the expenses incurred should the sports performer qualify for National Colleges competitions and National representation.


Hockey

- Lily Kitto competed for the AOC Colleges National Ladies team in 2014/15 and was awarded Yeovil College Sports Scholarship financial support to support her progress


Swimming

- John Byrne won gold in the men’s fly and front crawl at the AOC South West Regional Championships in 2015/16 and was awarded Yeovil College Sports Scholarship financial support to support his progress


Golf

- Adam Harris won gold in the men’s singles at the AOC South West Championships in 2015/16 and was awarded Yeovil College Sports Scholarship financial support in to support his progress


Dragon Boat Racing

- Claudia Coleman, a Great Britain Dragon Boat Racer, was awarded a Yeovil College Sports Scholarship to support her progress in 2015/16
