Course Overview
To undertake this apprenticeship you will need to be employed and working with a qualified and experienced installer within the industry. You will complete a 3 year apprenticeship, attending college on planned block weeks. Over the 3 years you will study the full range of applications associated with fire and security, learning the associated skills, knowledge and behaviours. These include applying and implementing system design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover. Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnosis and repair faults, of fire detection and alarm, and other emergency systems and components, Intruder and holdup alarms, Access Control, video surveillance (CCTV) and other electronic security systems and components. Throughout the qualification you will undertake a series of exams and written assignments. On successful completion of the qualification you will move on to complete an end point assessment.

After The Course
On successful completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship you can work as a fully qualified Technician in the trade. You may also seek other trade related qualifications.
English And Maths
To undertake this apprenticeship you must hold a Level 2 functional skill or GCSE grade 4/C prior to commencing the apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements
To have an apprenticeship with a suitable Fire and Security company that will meet the requirements of the qualification. You must also have a Level 2 functional skill or GCSE grade 4/C

No experience is necessary as working with your employer and attending college will ensure you gain the necessary experience.
