Yeovil College Invites Future Students to Be the First to Step Into a Once-in-a-Generation New Campus

Prospective students and their families are being invited to discover their future at Yeovil College’s first Open Event of the academic year on Thursday 15 October 2026, from 5.00pm to 7.30pm. The event offers the opportunity to explore study options, meet expert staff, tour industry-leading facilities and secure a place for September 2027

With applications continuing to rise and many courses filling quickly, Yeovil College is encouraging prospective students to make early decisions and secure their preferred study programme before places become limited.

The Open Event comes at a landmark moment in the college’s history. Visitors will gain an exclusive insight into the college’s transformational £60+ million Big Build programme, part of more than £100 million of investment in education, skills and facilities over the past five years. The project represents one of the largest investments in further education in the region and will create a completely reimagined campus for future generations of students.

Students considering their next steps this year will become the first cohort to study on Yeovil College’s fully transformed campus in September 2027. Central to that vision is the impressive new Wessex Building, a flagship development bringing together modern learning spaces, social areas, commercial training environments, cafés and a wide range of curriculum areas including Business, IT, Automotive, Hospitality, Hair & Beauty and University Centre provision.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the college’s newest facilities, including the recently opened Institute of Sport and Construction Innovation Centre, both designed to provide students with industry-standard learning environments and real-world experiences.

Further strengthening its reputation as a leading provider of technical and professional education, Yeovil College has recently been awarded Defence Technical Education College (DTEC) status, becoming one of only a select number of colleges nationally to receive the designation. The recognition reflects the college’s commitment to delivering high-quality technical skills aligned to key growth sectors and future workforce demands.

During the event, visitors can:

  • Explore A Levels, T Levels, V Levels, Vocational Qualifications and Apprenticeships.
  • Meet specialist tutors and industry professionals.
  • Experience state-of-the-art facilities through guided tours.
  • Receive advice on financial support, wellbeing and student services.
  • Speak with careers experts about future progression opportunities.
  • Apply on the night and secure their place early.

The Open Event is more than simply choosing a course. It is an opportunity for young people and their families to become part of one of the most significant educational transformations the region has ever seen.

Prospective students and their families can pre-register by registering at https://yeovil.ac.uk/events/open-event/ or simply drop in on the evening.
